About Us:

Corporation for Public Media Inc. (CPM), a non-profit organization officially registered in the District of Columbia, United States. CPM is driven by a diverse and dedicated collective of exiled journalists, human rights advocates, civic society leaders, and members in the Diaspora who share a profound commitment to the fundamental principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

Established by members of the Ethiopian community in the diaspora, CPM’s primary mission is to serve underserved community members, not only within the United States but also across the globe. Our devoted staff and board members are unwavering in their commitment to the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

At CPM, we hold a deep commitment to providing news, educational content, and cultural programming that caters to the unique needs and interests of our diverse audiences and community members. Our aim is to bridge gaps by highlighting community-based activities and stories that might often go unreported by larger broadcasting companies. We strive to create a wide array of programs, involving individuals from various communities, and regularly invite researchers, community leaders, and professionals to address critical issues of current affairs and public interest.

One of our central goals is to continually expand our outreach, reaching new audiences through our various platforms. However, our most vital focus remains on serving the unserved and underserved communities, amplifying their voices and addressing their concerns. We are dedicated to upholding the inclusion standards set by many nonprofit public broadcasting organizations, ensuring that our media stations’ employees, directors, and volunteers collectively represent a diverse array of backgrounds and perspectives.
